This battle took place on September 19 and October 7, 1777. This particular battle consisted of 2 parts. The first battle was won by the British, the second was won by the Americans whereas the British surrendered. This battle started when the British General John Burgoyne led a large invasion army up the Champlain Valley from Canada. The 2 battles were 18 days apart. This battle was the second to last battle of the Revolutionary War and a contributing factor to the Treaty of Paris 1783.
