The Proclamation of 1763 was a line that divided through the Appalachian Mountains after the French and Indian War. The British did this to avoid future conflict with the Native Americans. The British army was stationed in the colonies to make sure they didn't cross the line. This proclamation angered the colonists because of British presence and they were being told what to do.
