The Treaty of Paris was signed on February 10, 1763 by the Kingdoms of Great Britain, France, and Spain with Portugal. The reason for this is because of Britain's victory over France and Spain during the Seven Years War. Signing the treaty ended the Seven Years War (French and Indian War). This also marked the beginning of an era of British dominance outside outside Europe. The British gained much of Frances possesion and the two nations, Spain and France, returned much of the territory that they captured during the war.
